The Rover is equipped with a mast camera (PANCAM) to survey the site, and a navigation camera (NAVCAM) for safe driving.

While the NAVCAM is fixed in position, the PANCAM can swivel 60 degrees in either direction, and tilt up and down. By tilting the camera downwards, the PANCAM can be used to monitor the deployment of the Robotic Arm.

The Robotics Engineer is responsible for deploying the PANCAM.

Note: the Rover's High-gain antenna should be selected by the Communications Engineer to download PANCAM images.
